ABOUT US
The aim of the Foundation is to:
- Promote investments and initiatives in the fields of scientific research, economic development and technology transfer in favor of Italian start-ups and innovative SMEs that operate in the following macro-areas: green and circular economy, information technology, agri-tech and deep-tech.
- Foster economic development of the Italian biomedical sector through initiatives aimed to link basic and preclinical research to clinical trial and production stages, creating highly specialized hubs, to improve the overall competitiveness and attractiveness towards investments, the ability to face health emergencies, to meet production needs, ultimately delivering a strong and innovative ecosystem. To achieve its purposes, the ENEA Tech e Biomedical Foundation manages the “Technology Transfer Fund” and the “Biomedical Research and Industrial Development Fund” on behalf of the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, with an initial endowment of Euro 750 Millions.

The “Enea Tech e Biomedical” Foundation, established pursuant to article 42, paragraph 5 of Decree-Law No. 34, issued on 19 May 2020 and converted with amendments by Law No. 77 of 17 July 2020 and subsequently amended by Article 31 of Decree-Law No. 73, issued on 25 May 2021 and converted by Law No. 106 of 23 July 2021, is a private non-profit foundation governed by Articles 14 et seq. of the Civil Code.
